The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), local government units and non-government organizations provided aid worth P23.3 million to “Paeng” victims.
The DSWD’s Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Center said that as of Sunday, 294,938 families or 1,261,573 people were affected by “Paeng.”
Meanwhile, the House of Representatives raised P35 million in pledges for “Paeng” victims.
Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez said in a statement on Sunday that he asked Ako Bicol Rep. Elizady Co, chairman of the Committee on Appropriations to compile the damage assessment from House members and executive offices “so that they may aid us in reviewing possible adjustments in budget allocation for repair and rehabilitation of affected areas under the proposed 2023 national budget.”
