THE National Risk Reduction and Management Council on Sunday said the damage to infrastructure and agriculture wrought by Severe Tropical Storm Paeng has exceeded P7.3 billion.

In the latest report of the agency, the estimated cost of damage to infrastructure was pegged at P4,309,850,765.88.

Majority of the damage was on roads, flood control and government facilities.

The estimated damage to agriculture was P3,085,192,147.535.

The death toll was 156. Thirty-seven persons remain missing.

“Paeng” affected 44.6 million people in 9,481 villages.

So far, the government has provided P167,490,771.93 in assistance to the victims.
