NCCA Opens 2027 Competitive Grants Program, Launches Nationwide Roadshow to Support Filipino Arts and Cultural Projects | MANILA, Philippines — The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) has officially opened the Call for Proposals for its Calendar Year 2027 Competitive Grants Program, inviting artists, cultural workers, researchers, local government units (LGUs), educational institutions, indigenous peoples’ organizations, non-government organizations (NGOs), and other cultural stakeholders to submit innovative projects that promote, preserve, and strengthen Philippine arts and culture.
As one of the NCCA’s flagship funding initiatives, the Competitive Grants Program continues to provide financial assistance to projects that celebrate Filipino creativity, safeguard the country’s rich cultural heritage, empower local communities, and expand public access to arts and culture nationwide.

Supporting Cultural Development Across the Philippines
Implemented under Republic Act No. 7356, which created the NCCA, the Competitive Grants Program is funded through the National Endowment Fund for Culture and the Arts (NEFCA). The initiative reflects the Commission’s continuing commitment to fostering cultural development and supporting projects that contribute to nation-building through the arts.
For the 2027 grant cycle, the NCCA encourages proposals that respond to the country’s evolving cultural landscape while aligning with the priorities of its four Subcommissions:
- Subcommission on the Arts
- Subcommission on Cultural Heritage
- Subcommission on Cultural Dissemination
- Subcommission on Cultural Communities and Traditional Arts
Projects are expected to preserve cultural heritage, promote artistic excellence, strengthen cultural identity, and create inclusive opportunities for communities throughout the country.
Nationwide Roadshow to Guide Applicants
To make the application process more accessible, the NCCA will conduct a nationwide Competitive Grants Program Roadshow, offering free orientation sessions and technical assistance for prospective applicants.
The roadshows will provide guidance on:
- Proposal writing and project development
- Eligibility requirements
- Funding priorities
- Application procedures
- Documentary requirements
The initiative aims to equip cultural practitioners, institutions, and organizations with the knowledge needed to develop stronger and more impactful project proposals.
Roadshow Schedule
The NCCA will hold face-to-face roadshows across the country’s major island groups:
- Luzon: July 21, 2026 – Baguio City
- Visayas: July 27, 2026 – Bacolod City
- Mindanao: July 28, 2026 – Davao City
An online orientation will also be conducted on July 21, 2026 for participants from the National Capital Region (NCR).
The Commission said the exact venues for the regional roadshows, along with QR codes for pre-registration, will be announced through the official NCCA Facebook page.
Who Can Apply?
The grants program is open to qualified:
- Individual artists
- Cultural workers
- Researchers
- Local government units
- Academic institutions
- Indigenous peoples’ organizations
- Non-government organizations
- Other cultural institutions and stakeholders
Applicants must first obtain NCCA accreditation to qualify for funding. They must also have no unliquidated grants or derogatory records with the NCCA or any government agency.
Complete project proposals may be submitted via email or courier.
Submission Deadline
The deadline for submission of project proposals is August 31, 2026 (Monday), at 11:59 p.m. Philippine Standard Time, as indicated on the official NCCA website.
